Taken outside their home in Ohio, this is grandma's grandma and grandpa McDonald. She didn't see them very often. He was a tall man ~6 feet. Grandma was fond of them (but particularly him). They were very poor. Grandmas mom told her, Don't ever ask for anything here because they can't afford it. He died of pneumonia, she died of breast cancer. They lived 1-2 hours away from Dayton (1930)
